The Performance Evaluation of Strojírna Oslavany, Ltd. Using Balanced Scorecard Approach

This master´s thesis deals with the performance evaluation of the company STROJÍRNA OSLAVANY, spol. s r.o. using the Balanced Scorecard approach and proposes the implementation of this method in the company. A proposed concept of the Balanced Scorecard is based on the strategic and financial analysis, through which the future performance of the company will be evaluated on. The thesis specifies the strategic targets for each perspective of the concept, assigns the financial and non-financial measures for individual targets, determines target value, intended strategic actions, identifies risks and evaluates the benefits of the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard concept into the company.

The aim of the diploma thesis Company performance measurement is to propose a particular approach of the Balanced Scorecard method implementation for the company IZOL94, s.r.o. that can lead to the increase in the competitiveness and efficiency of the company. Strategic objectives of the perspectives are deduced on the basis of strategic and financial outcomes and also measures as well as target values are assigned to the strategic objectives. The strategic initiatives that lead to fulfill proposed strategic objectives are determined afterwards. The final part of this thesis deals with risks and benefits related to the Balanced Scorecard concept implementation.

This diploma thesis concerns the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard method in a selected company as a comprehensive tool for evaluating business performance. The goal of the thesis is to propose the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard model into the management system of a specific company from the food industry sector in order to increase its performance and competitiveness. The introduction of the thesis presents the current state of knowledge in the field of strategic management, company performance evaluation and the Balanced Scorecard method itself. The next part is focused on evaluating the situation of the selected company, including the industry in which it operates, using a questionnaire survey, traditional and modern performance evaluation methods and strategic analysis methods. On the basis of the synthesis of the results, the strategic goals of the company are determined, including the corresponding measures and their target values. Subsequently, strategic actions leading to the achievement of these strategic goals are derived. At the end of the work, a time schedule for implementation, calculation of related costs and a model scenario for companies in the industry are proposed.

The diploma thesis is focused on proposing form strategic system management and performance measurement of the selected company through the application of Balanced Scorecard. The theoretical part deals with corporate strategy, business performance, characteristic of the Balanced Scorecard and steps of implementation. The practical part is devoted to assessing the current situation of the selected company through strategic analysis, financial analysis and employees survey. Based on these results and clarify company strategy are derived strategic goals. Then scales enabling to monitor the fulfilment of the strategic business goals are set. Thereafter the strategic actions are identify to achieve the targets. Finally, the proposed timetable for the implementation, quantified costs and created model scenario for companies contemplating the introduction of this method.

The diploma thesis is focused on the proposal of the system of strategic management according to Balanced Scorecard method to the selected company. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on strategic and financial analysis and Balanced Scorecard methodology. In the practical part of the thesis, strategic and financial analysis is carried out, including the processing of the questionnaire survey. On this basis, business objectives, including their benchmarks and target values, are set. Furthermore, a strategic map is drawn up to determine the strategic links between the individual objectives. Strategic actions are also identified to lead to strategic targets. At the end, the cost of implementing the Balanced Scorecard method is calculated, a timeline of creation a baseline framework is proposed and a model scenario of implementation for similar enterprises in the sector are derived.
